Field Service Technicians are tasked with general maintenance of various outdoor and indoor warning and other related mass notification equipment. Technicians measure values at several test points, take note of findings in a work order, and communicate with the customer to test the equipment and notify them of condition of the siren site(s).
Technicians must safely operate company provided equipment, and mass notification equipment. Technicians must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record, be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, and pass a DOT physical. Applicants must also have a clean criminal background, as work sometimes requires operation in sensitive environments, such as emergency operations centers, dispatch operations centers, police, fire, or other emergency service departments.
Technicians must be able to travel for extended periods of time - 4 to 5 days per week (occasionally longer) with paid lodging and meals. Technicians can expect to work 40 hours or more per week.
Technicians are required to lift 24 to 60 pounds frequently throughout a work day. Technicians are also required to know basic multimeter operations, as well as possess basic knowledge of electronics.
Technicians are also required to work at heights exceeding 40 feet from a company provided lift truck, and shorter heights from a ladder if necessary.
Technicians must take an OSHA-10 Safety Class, as well as pass random issue drug and alcohol screenings.
Pay for this position is determined by experience, qualifications, and abilities.
Equipment Operators are tasked with safe operation of large commercial trucks, as well as setting utility poles. Most frequent equipment operated will be derrick trucks, as well as large bucket trucks. Equipment Operators also mount outdoor warning siren equipment to utility poles and ensure the equipment is securely fastened.
Utility poles vary in length from 50 to 65 feet and require special handling measures.
Equipment Operators must possess a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License, and possess a clean driving record.
Equipment Operators must be able to travel for extended periods of time - 4 to 5 days per week (occasionally longer) with paid lodging and meals. Equipment Operators can expect to work 40 hours or more per week.
